well my version is a bit more complex than most other peoples but hey it works in theory.

Dimensions have to be 100x100 pixels

Start with a black background or any colour,

duplicate the layer,

on the new layer, press CTRL+T, to bring up the transform tool.

next, change the width to 99% and the height to 99%.

Now press CTRL+I to invert this new layer to the negative colour.

if you want to delete the negative part just use the lassoo tool and click any where in the negative colour and press delete.

Hey presto your done.

If you want to make the 100x100 border bigger just use the transform tool to enlarge it, the quality shouldnt drop since it is straight edges.

Edit > Stroke > 1 px Border and select your color.

Or...

Layer Styles > Stroke > 1 px Select the other features

That's the easiest way to do it. Marc, you're way is too complicated for a simple task.

Oh, I use a multitude of different techniques. If its a simple shape, the Stroke layer style will work perfectly. If, however, you want to cover curves, and stuff like that, try 5-0's style...

My way can be done by doing it on on seperate layers meaning it can be set to soft light etc, i dont see a layer style being able to do that.

S2F's way is by far the easiest, but i like my way since i hate layer styles.

Wow, 5-0! That method is really cool. Thanks.

And btw, since when did we start calling other members by their real names? :P

@ Evdawg - That's my own personal thing lol. I call Digital, Yuneek, and 5-0 by their first names if I'm talking to them. If I'm talking about them I use their nicks. I don't think any other member on BioRUST uses first names lol.

Lol, whereas even my mother calls me mog. There's something very twisted and wrong about that...

Yeah. m0g is the only Moderator (errr... Admin ) that I call by his nick. I could call him Michael or Mike but that sounds weird. He's known as m0g everywhere.

Yeah, I'm known as Dan to family and friends. Online (gaming) people call me Subject or Failure. It's part of the alias I use online - SuBjEcT2fAiLuRe.

When you use the transform tool, theres a scale on the upper bar. Just change the numbers.
