To recreate this effect?

http://www.asmussenfoto.dk/index2.html#

the girl in the middle... isn't that AWESOME!

Seems that Renee uses the grundgy look in a lot of her portfolio... Im not looking for how to do the grundge... but more at the coloring techniques... like the skin tones etc... any clues?

There are certainly some amazing and inspiring images on that site. It's not easy to tell, but the image you mentioned looks like it has been either converted to black & white or has been heavily desaturated, and then hand-tinted. You can do this fairly easily in Photoshop by removing the colour from your original image (or a copy on a new layer) and then painting the new colours on with the brush tool's painting mode set to Color. It's not essential, but I find it useful to add each new colour on a separate layer, too.

Hope this helps.

PS: Actually, I think René Asmussen might be a guy.

I was also thinking of desaturating it not all the way, but enough to make it grungy, and then make a new layer and color in spots to your liking.
