Question How to give the effect of standing in fire?

In the movie Final Fantasy Advent Children, Sephiroth is encirlced by fire. I'm looking to do this is post work in conjunction with a rendered image from Poser. Does anyone have tips, tutorials or suggestions on how to do it?

For those who don't know much about poser or its capabilities: Poser is a 3D people program where ya can bend 'em an dress them how you want. You also can import background images (like one of fire, etc.)

Any thoughts?

There are a couple of good tutorials here that might give you a start: one by Systemdark and one by Andantonius

you can always fill the image(or wherever you want the light to be) with several gradients of orange/red, use the mask tool to make the layer sort of diffusing upwards and then use soft light/overlay for the layer blend options.i don't know if it'll work since i just came up with it XD

If you're going for realism, then the best thing to do is to find an actual photo of fire and set that as your background. Then simply take the figure you want to use and use a layer mask on it. If you need advice with layer masks, let me know.
