Loading Brushes?

I just added a lot of brushes and patterns and stuff and was just wondering if there was a better way to add them then 1 at a time?

As far as I know, at some point or other you still have to load each set one at a time. Of course, I guess you could then combine them all into one massive custom set, but I can't imagine why you would do that. Maybe someone else knows a way to do this. BTW, luv your photo on the profile page.

You could also use the Presets Manager to make sets of just the brushes you want to use most.

If you're a bit of a Brush addict (and who isn't?) I'd recommend getting a copy of ABRviewer, which has already been mentioned in another thread here (http://forums.biorust.com/adobe-phot...brushes-2.html (Looking For Brushes...))

Yes, there is a very easy way.....

It's called drag & drop. You can save your presets (brushes, custom shapes,
gradients, patterns, etc.) in folders anywhere on your hard drive or on disks, and organize them in whatever fashion suits your needs.

When you want to load them into Photoshop, open the folder, select one or many at once, click(and hold) on the selection and drag onto the photoshop screen, then release the mouse button. Your selection can include any combination of preset types. Photoshop will load each of the presets into its respective palette, and you can get right to work.

Dragging them in like this does NOT remove them from the folders you have saved them in, it simply loads them for use. (Make sure they are not in ZIP format---the zip files must be opened.)

I use this method a lot when I have a nice long downloading session and I'm eager to try out the goodies . Am currently working in CS2, but I have used this method in CS and 7.

I hope this helps.

I have all mine organized in folders by the name of the source and I usually load them as I need them to not drag down PS

I know what you mean! I got some great brushes from Vbrush once, but they don't seem to be there anymore and even their Brush Search Engine (which was a really useful tool) isn't working. I guess the moral of the story is: grab brushes as and when you see them, because they might not be there tomorrow!

I know and I used to be such a brush snob...I'd only grab a set if they all looked really good....now not really I grab ANY and EVERY brush I see cuz even in a set of 12 crappy brushes 1 in that set of 12 might be VERY good

I tell you my photoshop preset collection is getting out of hand. I have a crazy amount of add-on stuff. The biggest problem I have now is tracking where I even got the brushes from. A lot of people wanna link back or a note and I may see a brush I like and not find a use for it until a year after I download it. I want to give credit but I can't find where I got it or I get a 404.

These days I dont even download a preset unless someone says they dont care.

some brushmakers will include a readme file that contains the url so that helps in some cases.
