A few of you might know this, but I discovered it accidentally so I thought I'd share it with everyone. Centering and aligning in photoshop just became a lot easier for me...
I've known for a long time you could link layers to center or align them with each other, but I just found out you can link layers and use the selection tool on any part of the canvas and when you hit align or center it centers the item in relation to the selected area:
