Photoshop CS2

Did they remove the possibility to select a layer's content (a.k.a. ctrl+left click in photoshop 7)? If not, what'd the shortcut to select only the contents of a layer instead of the whole layer, including empty space?

Thanks to all who answer

CTRL+left-click on the thumbnail, itself.
