I DL'ed your photos to play with them and here's what I came up with, in a few minutes:

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...th/Aricky1.jpg
Here's what I did:
-Make a copy of the background layer and go to Filter > Blur > Average - the second layer should turn a solid color
-Go To Image > Adjustments > Invert then lower the opacity down until it looks right (for these images, I set both to 40%) This will get rid of the color cast without having to figure out which colors are causing it
**For the next few steps, use Adjustment Layers, by clicking the half-black, half-white "New Adjustment Layer" icon - at the bottom of the Layers Palette and choosing the appropriate option
-I used these settings for the "kiss" pic in Levels and Curves -
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1...th/Aricky2.jpg - The ends of the Histogram for the other pic didn't need the same adjustments (the red arrows) so I just adjusted the middle (Gamma) slider
-Make a new Hue & Saturation layer and slide the Saturation button to the right (I used +20%) to brighten the colors back up
Beyond that, I'd suggest, when scanning your photos, scan them as large as you can. You can always make them smaller, if need be, later, but trying to make them bigger will cause even more problems.
