Dragon Fly Wings?

I was wondering if anyone has figured out a good way to create dragon fly wings? I have a photo that i was working on, turning a model into a fairy, and the weakest part of it is the crappy wings that i drew. Admittedly, i didn't spend much time on it, and creating and painting in Photoshop is the thing that i'm worst at, but most interested in learning.
I can post the photo to show you my pathetic attempt, but it contains nudity, and I’m not sure what the forum rules are on that yet.

Hmmm.....How about using a Crumble filter or something to make the designs for the wings? I think Xenofex has one. I need to think about this.
