You are right, shapes are great and can be a real asset. Check out our resource section if you have not already done so, some of those might work. Also suggest that you play with creating your own as well, usually the ones you create yourself are the best. As far as already made ones goes, there are literally thousands of them on the internet. Start with the Adobe web site, they may have something you likke.

I have listed a few links below that you could try, but, they are just a few. If you think you will be using them alot, consider purchasing some also. Have fun!

This site has a pretty good assortment of sampler packs of not only free shapes but brushes and other things as well. http://www.graphicxtras.com

Custom shapes are vector graphics. Because they are vector they can be resized and modified without losing any quality. Almost anything can be made into a custom shape, some require more effort than others. You should consider creating your own custom shape library. Anything you use repeatedly is a good candidate for your library. Be sure to check the links listed by blackhawk, skstarkiller, ecntrc, and myself for samples.

In your Photoshop folder look for a folder named Presets. In there you'll find many other folders. Put shapes (.CSH files) into the Custom Shapes folder, brushes (.ABR files) into Brushes, gradients (.GRD files) into Gradients, etc..
Basically, anything that you want to add to Photoshop will go either somewhere in the Presets or Plug-Ins folders - if in doubt, look for similarl file extentions.

Hi ya,
Newbie here, I have two shapes that I've drawn, the chinese symbol for love and the symbol for balance, that I've added to my own custom shapes, I was thinking of submitting them along with some others how does one go about doing this ? specifically how do I save just the chinese symbols out to a file that can be then uploaded ? thanks

Click the link below and you will be directed to the correct section of our site. You might consider reviewing the instructions on submiting resources for specific instructions. Basically, you place the .csh file along with a .jpg file in compressed file format and send it by completing a blank submit form. Hope this helps. Look forward to seeing your shape.

where would the .csh file be on my machine ? when I created it I added it to my shapes library by using the :edit/define custom shapes: which added it to every other custom shape in my library including some really specific ones used for projects years ago. how can i save out the two symbols with out the others ? and where will I find the file ?
