How and WHy's OF Photoshop for newbie's

here are some tips

1) Have a secondary folder for plugins and photoshop. This will help in arranging presets without effecting system memory . i have over 1000 brushes so i always have a secondary folder outside photoshop main folder .

2)Automate u r process . Use Actions . Especially Record actions for image editing if you are involved in digital image procesing and have to do same actions over and over again .

thanks for the tip. 1000 brushes? egads, i'd have trouble keeping all that organized, but it seems you've got a handle on things.

I have my PS on more than one computer, on my desktop at home and on my Laptop that I take to school and its soo hard trying to transport and find things that are in the Photoshop folder. I learned how to use the Actions function from Russell Brown's website and it's a great way to save my text effects, so I can easily place different types of effects on text.
