Are there more filters available for download for CS? Besides the ones that already come with ps?

there are tones out there a lot u need to pay for but there are some good free ones! Just google photoshop filters or somet like that

The photoshop filter market is a very lucrative from what I hear! You might try looking for plugins from Extensis, Alienskin, etc. Oh, and try to find the Adobe Vault - they have some pretty decent free plugins over there!

adobe vault? can i just like google that and somethin will pop up? i know i can do it.. lol but my nyquil is about to take affect.. but ill try tomorrow.. but if you have the exact link thatd be great if not ill find something.. i found one but you have to really mess with the settings to actually get something good out there.. but if anyone else is interested then ill let you know.. thanks

I have found that the filters for virtural photographer are great and they are free which is a bonus. http://www.optikvervelabs.com/ I have used VP for several months now and I am very pleased with the results. It is just a quick drop into your plug in folder and you will find it at the bottom of your filters menu. They have add on packages for VP at that same site

thanks ill take a look at it now.. i gave up on downloading additional filters b/c i just didnt like some of the results it showed but like always just gotta keep trying and looking..

Lots of filters do cool/ 3D/ illustration/ etc. stuff, but I think color filters are the real deal.
Try Nik's Color Efex 2.0 filters... you can buy them as a complete set or in several collections... and you can "brush" the parts you want on a layer mask and even gaussian blur it to naturalize it!

(Although brush mode makes a composition of the image, instead of just a layer)

If you want special effects, try Alien Skin' Eye Candy 5/ Xenofex 2 filter sets.
Incredibly powerful. But for image tweaking they do little good.

I really don't fancy downloadable filters. These kinds tend to make you more inexperienced.

A true photoshop user must learn to use defaults. If not just defaults, then he/she could use downloaded brushes for different purposes. You already have the best filters in stock Why would you want new ones?

It's quite useless really...
