Red face Can anyone tell me where to find a good tutorial?

I'm looking for a good tutorial for selection edge fading (don't think that's the right term...) What I'm trying to do is cut out an image from one background and paste it onto a new one, but I can't seem to fade out the edges - they always turn white on me... I'm new to Photoshop (CS2) and I've checked the tutorials in the resources tab, and tried to find others online, but none of them seem to tell me how to do it with a cutout rather than, say, fading the edges of a whole picture to white. I just want to integrate seamlessly into the background... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated Thanks

Can you show use an example image of what you're cutting out and what you want to paste it in? That will allow us to help you out a little better.

Hmmm.... this may be a good topic for a tutorial. I'll add it to the list.
