Design that I've been working on...

I've been working on this the past day and I'm just wondering what you guys think about the colors, design, anything etc...

Also, I'm not sure how I want to put content into the center of the page so any suggestions there would be good too.

well im not quite sure you got the colour theme right yet, it does sorta look like my website but im not suprized it has simularity because its a good theme.
maybe if you checked the way i done mine you might get some inspiration on how to finish it.

i think you shud try a different shape for the top of the template maybe a rounder, or squarer top half.

Yea, yours is pretty nifty! I'm just not gonna have anywhere near that much content so I'm looking for a small content area. I may change the top part but I'm pretty satistified with the colors so far. (I personally think yours is too dark).

ya i know mine can use some updating, but dont have much time because im tryin to fix most of the broken scripts on there. and ya it prolly is too dark but im making the shoutbox which will go underneath and hopefully lighten it up.

what sort of content are you planning on putting on it?
and how are you planning to finish off the top and bottom?

It looks pretty good. I would suggest possibly making it a little thinner if you don't plan to have a lot of content. The colors are a little rough. I think one of them needs to be darker, either a dark gray and neonish green or an off-white grey and a medium-dark green. The other thing I saw was the top curving type things are slightly rough. You may want to readjust them with the pen tool and use either inner, outer or both inner and outer glow on them to make them seem smoother.

I just saw your post so I didn't get to try any of your suggestions. Here are a few variations of the thing on top. The few people I talked to decided it was a little overwhelming.

It's going to be a personal website -- my last one is way out of date. As you can see on those 2 variations, I'm starting to set up the content area. I'm thinking I will have links on the left beveled box and actual content in the other bevel box... This is all bound to change though. Let me know which variation you like better.

I really likethe layout2.jpg. The style of it is very nice. It really shows off the green background that is awesome. The content dividers fit very nicely in with the rest of the layout as well. Layout3 is pretty nice too, but the top part seems sort of stuck on, and has a hard time fitting in with the rest of the layout.

I think though that layout2 definately has potential to be quite awesome.

I personally think layout2 is a little too plain, so I like layout3... #2 is growing on me though. Thanks for the comments!

Nice work on all of them. I really like layout 3 - it's unique and shows creativity and vision. Layout 2 doesn't have as much "original" character. Overall, I think it depends on what you put inside the design and what your content is.

maybe you can split your links up, link some on the left of the curvy v (ill call it that) you know where it ends.. and the rest to the right on the curvy v.. in that gray space.. i hope you know what i mean.. and then maybe a graphic image in the V all together.. id ont know if that made sense.. or maybe take out that V and make something different?

i would vote layout2, now it seems to me like its very pwnage even tho it is plain but im taking it that isnt gna be ur banner, and im guessing you are pretty good in photoshop to get one that suits, which will make it a hole lot better and you shud think about some animation on some of the outline to spice it up.

very good work so far keep it up and you will have yourself a ass ripping site.

if you figure out how, you could even combine the 2 of them using anime. if you are keen on the layout3
