Lighting Changes in PS?

Here's a tutorial opportunity for someone

Last night I was trying to add a girl I know catching a football into a scene with some players diving toward a football. I wanted it to look like the players were diving at the girl. The lighting is all wrong though. The player's pictures were taken at night with stadium lighting while the girl had strong direct sunlight. How can I fix the lighting on the girl to be more realistic?

I've attatched the 3 pics. (players, girl, and kinda what I want it to look like with lighting changes)

Maybe someone can help get this looking right Thanks

That's a simple curves adjustment. I'm on-call this weekend (yes, AGAIN), but if I get a spare moment and i'm not utterly knackered, i'll see if I can make a tutorial on this very same subject...

PS. Any chance of sending me the final PSD? I'll have a play around with it...

Well, I've had a really good fiddle myself now, and I'm not having any luck either! The problem really is that the light is simply too strong on the woman, which makes adjustment very difficult. It could be possible to add the light to the football players and then retrospectively to the scenery, but that is a much more difficult task. Just toning down the colors on the woman is proving impossible. :/

Desaturate it and work in grayscale. That may sound stupid, but when you work in grayscale, you have better control over toning, which is obviously a huge factor in this project. Why not aim for a retro-black-and-white television effect?
