First of all, thank you Man1c M0g for your tutorial, which I found on http://biorust.com/index.php?page=tu...etail&tutid=29.
Everything went swimmingly until step 3, where we return to the layer, and one is supposed to do: filter > render > lighting effects. Although my layer is selected, when I follow the instruction, I find the 'lighting effects' option inactive, unusable.
Got any idea why this should be?

perhaps your layer is empty?

Make sure you have the proper layer highlighted and the layer isn't empty (as scrowler said above).
