Image Dimensions

is there a ratio you use to create good "eye candy" for your image? my maths teacher once told me about this thing called the "golden ratio" which makes images look alot better on the eye, i can't remember what it is but i'd be interested to know.

Hmm - the fibonacci numbers seem like a desperate attempt by scientists to explain art to me (not that I have anything against scientists... I am one myself). Still, good art is a very personal thing, and to me at the moment mainly revolves around all good images at 1200x1600 resolution (yes, I need a new desktop for my portrait LCD monitor setup ).

I'm kind of the same way but I don't have a specific dimension. I just like signature that are wide but not too tall. My sig is the largest I'll go height wise.

yours is too high for me, but the width makes up for that

Yeah, I agree. If the width were less it would look too boxy. ><
