Template Help

Hey Everyone,

I just joined this community thanks to S2F. It looks very nice and I think you'll be seeing more of me.

To my problem...

I can and have made templates in PhotoShop 7. I just can't get them into an actual website. I tried cutting the image into little sections manually. That didn't work. I used the Slice Tool and cut into sections, then chose save for web. It put all the images into tables in a file called: index.html. I have lots of HTML and PHP knowledge. I just can't find any good tutorials, or how to add text.

Any from of help will be great.

Thanks!

Mman

Welcome to BioRUST Mman.

Basically, in Photoshop once you have your images all slices up you can press Alt + Ctrl + Shift + S. That will take you to the Save forWeb window. (You can also go to File > Save for Web).

Once there you can choose the format to save it as. Jpg or Gif works the best.

After your done, click Save. It will save into an /images folder. If you don't have one created it will be created for you.

Now, click the little IE icon in the lower right hand corner. That will open a browser window. It will show you the preview as well as the HTML code.

From there you can edit your slices and replace some of them with tables - which can but used to show your content.

If your having any trouble with this please post here and contact me via PM. I'll gladly assist you with any troubles you may have.

Have fun.

Yes, Photoshop does a bad job with assembling the slices, as it only puts them as static images, which as a general rule (layers excluded), text cannot be used, I would suggest manipulating the table and changing areas that you want to have text by adding the image as a background..
