Happy new year! Oh... wait... its a bit late for that isn't it? ;P Okay, I admit its been a while coming, but Biorust v3 is finally here! As you can probably see, its brought quite a few changes with it too! Here's an ikkle summary:

Brand spanking new design - The most obvious change, and probably the most important. Gone is the old take-forever-to-load design, and in comes a much sleeker, more modem friendly design. It still takes a while to load on slow connections (obviously), but once its cached, the site loading times should be extremely swift. Oh, and before I forget to mention it, the template driving the site is fully W3C compliant (and CSS compliant too), so it loads PERFECT on all browsers that support standards properly. In fact, the only browser untested so far is Safari... and that's because I haven't got a MAC!

No Shoutbox- This change may be lamented by some, but the shoutbox seemed to be a magnet for spamming, flaming, and unconstructive comments. Oh, and it posed quite a few technical and speed issues for the server because it was terribly coded. It has been replaced by a 'new threads' section linking directly to the biorust forums. I hope ya like!

Easier Navigation - The little LCD on the last design may have looked nice, but lets face it - it was also a total pain to use, and not expandable. The more traditional menu in this design will expand as the site grows, and offer a much more intuitive browsing experience.

New sections - The downloads section is still forthcoming, but it is expected soon, and will offer Photoshop styles, brushes, & layer effects, as well as pixel fonts and any other gubbins I find useful.

IRC Services - In addition to the forums, we now offer an IRC channel in which to generally idle, ask design questions, and chat about stuff. Its all controlled by a pretty intelligent bot, and fun stats are also offered if you are into that sort of thing...

I'm not quite finished with the new design yet, of course, but the majority of it is here for you to see and use. In coming weeks I will add the new tutorials symbol system (you'll see what I mean by that when its online), add PDF exporting options, and fix all the bugs which seem to be cropping up at the moment.
