the flare seems to be just a lens flare with a slight hue adjustment.
in order to use an example: load the aforementioned pic into ps. create a new layer and paint it black. then put a 105mm prime lens flare someplace inside the image. change the layer mode to screen, and the black paint will disappear. now, move the flare under the top planet and adjust hue/saturation. it should look very similar to the other planets "sun"
lens flares are what I use on my planetscapes.
