Tee help
cafepress is pretty decent but their printing isn't great quality- it's heat transfer I believe which can peel or fade. They also charge a lot for their services. Threadless is pretty decent. I use them. I have also had fun with woot.com's woot shirt contests. It's a good way to see how your designs will be taken on the open market. Just don't post anything you really like because once it's out there it's public. You can still use it but for copyright reasons it's best to just create a new one for the comps.
The best thing you can do is get the screen print stuff yourself and make custom designs. You can get decent bulk tees at a good price and simply do the transfers yourself- it's not tough or expensive really. That way you can seel them on the open market via website or small stockists.
Good luck, I hope that helps.
