to answer the "pdf" question from word.
If you have acrobat 8, (unsure about lower versions) You should get an "Adobe PDF" menu right in word that you can "convert to pdf"

Alternatively if you wanted, you could "print" the file, and when you are asked what printer you would like to use, choose the "ADOBE PDF" as your printer, it saves a pdf file instead of using your default printers, etc.

but i wouldn't bother trying to export the files, i've done the copy/save thing before and the resolution of the image is horrible. I'd recommend doing a screenshot instead

There were cases where I had to setup a word doc to print for the client, so i had to use a high resolution image and there's something that word automatically does the to the image to make it useless. I know this is off topic, but if you were to try to print an image from a word document, you will have to use something about triple of the actual size for it to work (and that's working from a 300dpi image)

anyways i know it's solved just thought I'd throw my 2cents in there for future issues.
