You could create a fire background by applying the technique from that tutorial, but if you want a one-click solution try the Fire filter in the Eye Candy 5: Nature plugin from Alien Skin: Eye Candy 5: Nature

Here is an example of this filter, applied to a plain black layer - it took about 10 seconds of tweaking the parameters to get it to look ok.
