ahh LordMethane,
I dont know how long you were gone for, I just thought battles were always a part of Biorust.
Simply put to enter a battle you join in a small competition with other Biorusters.
The competition will have a task, or a project to be completed and handed in. Each competition is a different task , usualy in the form of creating an image or presenting a piece along some theme with specifications
You will find the Battle broken down into one-on-one's where one member presents a work against another members, or a free for all, where entries are open to a pretetermined number, closing when the number has been met. and finaly contests, any number of people may submit before a ceratin pre determined date.
Again put simply its just a matter of entering a piece of your own work that goes with the theme. Sometimes small challenges may be included to make the submissions more interesting where the Battle will require you to manipulate or present your image with certain features.
Any member may make a battle up and offer it for others to play.
and are they fair??
O yes yes and big yes.. not only are the rules and conditions fair, ie members cannot encourage votes etc, and we do not know who did which piece when we vote, we do not see the other entries untill the competition is closed and up for voting. But I have never ever seen or heard of anyone even stepping over the line and not playing fair.
I hope that helps..
O BTW I think these are an incredible way to learn and sharpen up photoshop skills..
especialy for someone that might be considering freelancing their photoshop or photography skills out.. It realy is far different doing something to the way we like it without limitations and making stuff that we like just because we like it, than having to make something specific with certain features for a client.
