windows has a feature called restore. if you get any kind of virus. just restore it. too easy.
actually spending the time to get rid of viruses/trojans and spyware does take time, the "quick fix" that Dell tech support suggests... doesn't always get rid of those...

I'm close friends who run a computer store, and I see that they're always fixing the "quick fix" restores... all that really does is layer and hide your files, but they're still exsistant on the HD...

FF also has exploits.
well no one said ff is perfect, but it does far exceeds ie's

the simple truth of the matter is IE does not comply with web standards, ff does...among other browsers but we aren't talking about those...

and i don't think anyone is questioning your knowledge of hardware, but when it comes to programming for websites...take notjustgraphic's word for it, he does it for a living, and so do I.

i don't think you need to scoff at his comment, yeah he feels strongly and so do i.

So would you if you tried to code a website that doesn't need a disclaimer "optimized for ie" or "best viewed in ie"

you said it yourself. they hold 95% of the market in the OS department. and 78% in the browser department. to write code for anything else would be almost pointless.
well actually stock of anything isn't always the best solution, in most cases it's the cheapest... If you want quality you have to go get it, and in this case, it's go download FF.

thats it

have a great day
