IE
cannot be removed...not without breaking Windows, anyway. It is an integral part of the OS. All you can do from Add/Remove Programs is remove access to IE from the Start menu and Desktop.
If you don't believe me, try a G**gle search for a method to remove it completely. I think you'll be disappointed.
