Ideas for my very short animated short

Well i'v started to design my own animated short, its kinda going to be a futuristic styled thing a ma jig. I need some ideas involving some mechs etc.

My initial idea so far is to have a mecha mending another one, in the centre peice of this low polygon scene.

The scene isn't complete just yet, but it does give an overall feel of what type of effect i am going for. The whole animated short shall consist of three scenes lasting for one minute.

c&c and ideas and critics welcomed for this first scene enviroment.

I don't really have any suggestions/ideas for the animation itself but the scene looks very nice. Made with RealSoft I presume?

Yeah its with realsoft. Im trying to keep it as low poly as possible, i also provided a faint outline to show how many polygons i have used. i think it is less than 200 so far. This is because i want to cut down on my rendering times etc. I still need to texture the thing and add some decent surface effects and add the main purpose or characters of the scene.

i really should draw up some story boards but i think this thread shall be an indication of the progress and development of the animated short

If you mean a mecha like in 'mech warriors' I'm afraid your scene is going to be a bi small... In this case it's better to stick with cyborgs or another type of humanoid robots...

I agree with malboroman here - mechs tend to be very large, and would seem out of place in the setting you have already created. Try and stick to cyborgs doing something... or even house robots... since the scene could resemble the insides of a house!

rolf i kinda used the wrong word for a basic robot so thanks for pointing that out. THe scene is coming along nicely. I shall post an update by the end of tonight.

Wheee! Can't wait 5-0! I'm more than a little intrigued as to what those robots will be doing in that scene. Tom and Jerry style antics? We'll have to find out...

Trust me, it will be special. I just got a copy of fruity loops so there should be some really nice slow drifting style moving. It ain't gonna be some type of commedy video. It will be something along the lines of a slow moving music video. I have worked my ass off on the scene so far. It is really starting to come together now. I never knew that i would spend about 6 hours just working on one corner of a room. At the moment i am learning lip sych techniques for my robots.

A preview shall be shown soon of the updated corner.

Well i'v completed the basic white room enviroemtn and it looks pretty nice now. It is very low poly which should help the rendering times.

@malboroman: at the moment i am trying really hard to think of some really original andriod designs, so it will take time before we some real action.

Yeha it is a bit of a hefty door but i like it. I want to keep this scene as minimal as possible. The joy shall come once these andriods are created.

Well since ive had eye problems, i really couldn't be arsed to model myself so high poly andriods. I decided to start writing my shaders. The shaders in this room are two times more advanced than my pen shaders. They took bloody ages lol. well have a look for yourself.
