How can I set up my Photo shop to export text to 3D max? Is there a plug in or somthing I would need for this? Can anyone help me with this?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.
I'm assuming you mean how to export textures so you can use them for 3ds max? In that case, then any file type .jpg .tiff .png and targa's will all work. If that's not what you meant, can you explain further?

No you can export text and make it 3D its in a book I got but it doesn't say how to set it up just how to do it. Its some kind of graphic design application . You make shapes or text in photo shop and export to Max and you can turn it into 3D but my photo shop doesn't have (AutoCAD Drawing) file format that I can save it to.

umm, if max can handle adobe illustrator files, then i would just take your text, convert it to shapes, and then File>export paths to illustrator, which will make a .ai file...then you can take this file into your 3d software and do your thing.
also if you are just using normal fonts, etc, why don't you just use the text option in max?

well there are a lot of 3d communities out there, and most of which will have 3ds max sections dedicated to just 3ds max.
such as:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=6
http://www.3dcafe.com/index.php?opti...howcat&catid=6
http://www.3dstudiomaxtutorials.com/
http://www.highend3d.com/3dsmax/tutorials/
Metasearch Search Engine - Search.com
http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/tutorialsmax.asp
but if you have specific questions about tools in 3ds max, F1 is your best friend, the help files and tutorials that come with max are great! probably one of the best I've seen come with any 3d program.
Also, g**gle searches are very helpful,

I was looking at spline modeling and was wondering were they get the images they up load to max for modelling. Do you have to buy them or is there a site that has them available at no cost ? I would like to try my hand at that and see how it works. Oh thanks for your help............

here's an example...yes anything that's really good references usually costs money.
here's a free site,
http://www.suurland.com/
here's another one that is for human anatomy (which you have to pay for if you want the quality images, but there's some free samples on there)
http://fineart.sk/
and you can also just do google searches... for "3d reference images" or the like.
