Google SketchUp

Google has released a 3d modeling program to add to their already amazing line of free software
Quote:
Developed for the conceptual stages of design, Google SketchUp is a powerful yet easy-to-learn 3D software tool that combines a simple, yet robust tool-set with an intelligent drawing system that streamlines and simplifies 3D design. From simple to complex, conceptual to realistic, Google SketchUp enables you to build and modify 3D models quickly and easily. If you use Google Earth, Google SketchUp allows you to place your models using real-world coordinates and share them with the world using the Google 3D Warehouse.
Go check it out at Google SketchUp - Home.

Yeah I heard of it,

but I don't think it will be much of a succes.....it hasn't got that much features as bryce 3dsmax or such a prog, but for people who want to draw something funny it can work...

and the full version isn't freeware....I'll stick to Alias Maya 7.01

lol they're getting lazy, they release a program then release a contest to see who can build "their campus" contest, etc...

seems like, in hopes of making google earth 3d someday, but for free. Still a pretty cool idea though, you go to google earth, type in an address, then click on the "3d" button and you can see what that place looks like in 3d ...maybe even navigate the area like as if you were there, *if you lived inside of tron* (older people know what i'm talking about ;p
just think of all the bad models that will be created by amateurs in goog-maps, I wonder if it will be regulated.

anyways, it's a neat find Bub but i'll have to stick with maya also. Blender is free too, and looks more capable.

Yea, I don't think it's worthy of replacing other 3d programs but I thought it was neat and just something new so I posted it
