Well, very simple...
it are .mesh files...they have a special coding. I tried making the thing by using the manually insert an extension(you know at the render options) But that didn't work out very well...

maya, will allow you to import/export .obj file formats and .dxf file formats
if you cannot see them as an option they may need to be loaded as a plugin, to find the plugins just go to the plugin manager in maya found under
Window>Settings/Preferences/PluginManager
hope this helps...
ovidiua2003: what file format are you looking for support? because there is a wide array of file formats maya uses, i mostly will just use .mb or .ma and on occasion i'll use .obj if i need to export it to another program.

hey no problem unleash
and ovidiua2003
if you are using 3ds max, then you can try the fbx file format or the obj, and i think maya has a .max or .3ds plugin or something, i'm not sure i don't really export back and forth between the two programs much.

just subscribe to the post to receive emails...
anyways, to create a mesh file you can choose "File>save as.." and from there choose your file format, it's in the drop down box in your "file type" drop down menu...
