Poser

I've always wanted to try Poser so low and behold I am. Only problem is, it's got me so confused... anybody have any experience with, or tips for poser? Or maybe where to find some tutorials? Any help is appreciated.

Hehe its a great program for human renderings. i would recommend learning from the user guide as this ALWAYS helps, you then wont need to know any tutorials.

I know someone who could help you... the only problem is that he makes 'questionable' animations with poser models and i'm terrified of him!

heheh poser, its pretty easy to use, just learn some tutorials. what i would do is import the basic male or female body into 3dsmax and make custom changes, then you have your own rocking character.

Also try: http://www.planit3d.com A lot of poser users there.
There's also a website dedicated to "questionable" poser people/animations. Ask, and ye shall receive (the link).

Smile Poser Resources

I've owned a copy of Poser for almost ... ten years now. Once you get the hang of it - it all starts to make sense. Like someone already mentioned, there is renderosity.com which has a large section of free items for poser .. and sometimes you'll get a helpful answer if you post in the forums. They also have a marketplace where you can buy some really neat things. But, I've got to warn you - not all of the merchants creations are there own - so watch out for scams.

DAZ3d.com is primarily a marketplace of high quality (and sometimes price) models - but they do offer a forum and some really high quality freebies. They've been a part of Poser way before anyone else.

A name you should look up is Dr. Geep http://drgeep.com he has some really good tutorials.

Hope this helps.

e-frontier currently owns Poser and you can purchase it directly from them.

Its not super expensive software - but it will cost you a pretty penny.

Yeah, I dabble in poser too. It's pretty cool, and even cooler if you can create props for it (which I can't btw). Renderosity is cool.
