I recently got Adobe Illustrator, and am feeling quite lost in it. My intended use of it is to scan in my inked and just good ol' pencil drawings and "solidify" the lines so I can more easily color them in Photoshop.

I guess my question is, what is the simplest way to have it make my lines recognizable as LINES so when I import it into Photoshop, I can more easily select sections to color or to make a layer with? A friend of mine told me that Adobe Illustrator was more suited for what I was trying to do in Photoshop.

Any tips/tricks or tutorials that I can find online would be appreciated.
