Andy:

It is certainly possible to copy text from something like a TXT file or a Word DOC and paste it into Photoshop (you have to add a Type object first, then paste your text into it), but I would seriously consider if Photoshop is the right tool for this job - a 64-page document would be a big job in PS and would be better suited to some sort of Desktop Publishing app, I would have thought.
