I dont own that particular model myself, but having had a fujifilm finepix 4900z for about 6 years now, I can say it has been a reliable and easy to use little number, and up untill just now, very reliable, I do seem to have lost resolution these last few months.. my pictures just seem to have developed a whole lot of noise.. But then again my girl has been roughed around a little with red bulldust and sand, and all sorts of other nastys cameras dont realy like..

The only thing I can think of is that you say you will be shooting inside of a club, I would consider something with a hotshoe to add a flash. you might not find the built in flash completly suitable.
Although i have a hotshoe on mine that I rearly if ever use, but I only usualy shoot outside..

I guess I was lucky with mine I have not noticed too many Digitals that do have a hotshoe /builtin choice. But then again i have not heard too many complaints from people missing one either.

I like that you have full manual settings for them times when point and shoot wont cut it..

Just looking at your camera specs now I would think go for it for the price and what you want to do with it..

The point and shoot should work a treat, I know mine does, But I also noticed it has full manual exposure, if wanting ( this is a bonus )that you could use if the light realy is not that great.. just be sure to use a tripod if you need to slow the shutter down.. ) or look foward to some pretty patterns

anyways seems fine for the price to me.
