oh man! i love painter, I used it back in the day when it was called fractal painter by umm, Metacreations i believe.

Anyways, this is probably my favorite program ever to use for traditional painting, the brushes and canvas' really do make it look like as if you just painted it on canvas with oils, pastels, etc...

I really do like how you can "dynamically rotate your canvas" to help you paint curves and what not, kinda how you move your paper if you're drawing on paper...

Check out some of this guy's work, he does incredible work...has some tutorials on the program and even some brushes that he uses etc...

I haven't used the prorgam in a very long time, but i'm sure it's even better than when i used to use it

*SideTracked: This also reminds me of this program called "project dogwaffle" it's a funny name, for a really cool painting program, They have a "pro" version, which i don't have, but i did use the free version a couple summers ago...and i must admit it allowed me to get the feel i wanted in my digital paintings... so check it out as well if you're bored...but Painter is truly awesome :P (wow a lot of praise for that program, no i don't work for them, nor do i get paid to say it )
