Usually the limit is to help reduce strain on the severs. Cheaper rates usually have lower limits because they are either less powerful servers you are paying for, or you are part of a huge number of accounts on the same server.

I would suggest looking around. If you should be able to find decent hosting for that price. the GB and MB listings probably tell you both the monthly (or daily) traffic limits and the amount of web space that the account has.

Find a shared hosting plan that gives you tiered options to start. That way you can try a little less expensive option and if you find you need more, then you can always upgrade.
