I generally wouldn't post a link to another forum or thread, but if you take the time to read the comments and the result of this person's experience with a logo design client, you might bring something away from it.
Personally, I think the reaction by everyone about the client is far too common. Even if your client likes something that is aesthetically or conceptually worse (in your opinion), you need to learn to make the best of it. Push a bit, but not too much. In the end, it's their company and their likes that are most important. Your job is to work with them to get the best possible design. Not just for them to accept what you think is good.
