I am good friends with a few Romanian girls and a couple of guys, that live in Romania. All of them are nice people and taught me how to swear in Romanian lol. However, they all hate Romania as a country and everything connected to it, as they are attracted to countries such as England, France and Italy.
The media outside of Romania doesn't exactly paint a good picture of the country, but most people are not as judgemental.
I'm a big fan of a number of Romanian footballers and I was going to go to Bucharest last year to see my team play my Romanian friends team, Steaua, in the UEFA Cup Semi Final.
As for art and such like, there are a number of big name Romanian graphic designers and illustrators that are getting coverage in the UK, which is good for both Romanian designers to get exposure in places they wouldn't normally, while the people in these places get to see the different styles new wave Romanian designers and illustrators use.
