Tamlin to the rescue! I appreciate your taking the time to write an arcs tutorial, it worked beautifully. In the final version I wanted the arcs vectored with no background, so I went back into Illustrator and was able to get what I wanted within 10 minutes. I’d been trying to get the arcs around the dot of a “j”, and since the dot wasn’t a perfects circle I couldn’t use the circle method. Finally decided to outline the font, delete the imperfect dot and make a new one with the ellipse tool. From there, using the ideas you provided in your tutorial, I made three new circles, stroked them, and then cut them with the scissors tool to obtain arcs. Fairly simple, but I was stumped until I tried out your Photoshop method. Many thanks.
