You know, it's great to have tutorials, especially for newbs likes myself, but it's very friggin frustrating when I'm being told TO do something instead of being shown HOW to do it.

Perfect example: "Create a new transparent layer on top..."

How on God's green friggin earth do you do this? There's too many tutorials telling me to make a transparent layer but not a friggin one to actually show me HOW TO!

Because of this, in the end I miss out.

It'd be great if someone could show me how, step by step to do the things required of me within these tutorials. Pictures would be nice, too.

Yeah, this might be a simple thing to ask for help with, but I am, after all, a newb. Besides, not only will I benefit from the help, but so will so many others after me. Thanks.
