I'm not sure that you can embed images in a post - if you look at the Posting Rules box at the bottom of the page it says:
[IMG] code is Off
You can
attach images to a post, and they'll appear as clickable thumbnails. The other option (which is probably the best one, as more people will get to see your images) is to upload them to the Gallery.
