AHA!! I understand what you mean now. Sorry - I was being dumb.

To rotate a brush, open up the Brushes palette (click on the tab labelled Brushes which is usually in the top right of the screen with Tool Presets and Layer Comps).

Click on the Brush Tip Shape section. You should see something like the attached screenshot.

If you want to rotate the brush by an exact degree, you can type this in to the Angle textbox. Alternatively, you can use your mouse to grab the arrow/circle thing (sorry, I don't know the official term!) and drag it around to the angle you want.

In the screenshot, you can see I've chosen a 24px Square brush and changed its angle to 45°

You can leave the Brushes palette open as you use the brush so you can change the angle at any point as you work.
