There is probably a quicker way around it, but my method involves using the
Character Map tool included as default with Windows (its somewhere over in
Start > Accessories > System Tools I think). You get a full listing of all the wierd symbols in the font file, and then its just a case of forming a string/character in the box below and copy+pasting it into the application of your choice.
