Hmmm I don't know what you mean exactly by 3D type pics, but I believe the better quality camera, the more likely a photographer is to get the exact picture in their head. The best way to get a photo with those beautiful vibrant colors of fire and perfect shading to show how the flames dance is to invest in a really good SLR with which you can tweak all your settings until the photo is perfect for you. Look for a variety of setting features, high quality pixelcount and resolution. Ignore the lens for the most part because they all come with awful factory lenses...The lens can always be replaced
